Berlin, July 2011 – Everything can be improved and the neo family of luminaires by SELUX, which was awarded the Good Design Award in 2008, is no exception. Following extensive further development, this successful product line can now be presented in a reduced yet classical form with optimized functions. An energy-efficient LED variant has also been added to the neo luminaire system, for flexible light planning.

Semperlux AG: Change of generations and new focus

Berlin, 28th June 2011 – After 36 years, Udo Bansbach, member of the board of directors of Semperlux AG, has retired from the operative business. Mr. Bansbach joined the supervisory board of the Berlin based lighting specialist starting July 1st 2011. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Marx, who has been with Semperlux for many years, started his well earned retirement as per the same date. The new supervisory board will continue to support advances in product innovation and internationalization.
Semperlux was founded by the father of the present owners, Hermann Bansbach, during the German post-war years. Udo Bansbach and his older brother Armin Bansbach, with the help of many long term employees, grew Semperlux into an internationally operating company. Mr. Udo Bansbach, as a member of the board of directors since 1997, worked to assure continuity and stability of the family owned company. A visionary spirit with great passion, Udo Bansbach was very influential in the drive towards international competence and insight of the Semperlux group.

JESSICA – a universal lighting tool for modern street lighting

In the 1950s, the first upswept street lanterns started to dominate the streets of many German cities. Now, 60 years later, SELUX has reinterpreted this universal upswept pole design with linear fluorescent luminaire in the JESSICA. The shape of the luminaire head has been completely revised and its design reduced to the essentials. The flat luminaire housing appears to be melting into the slim 15° degree upswept pole to form a single puristic unit while, for use as a pole-top fixture, a variant with an arm has also been developed. Its reserved look by day enables it to blend harmoniously into the urban environment while at the same time, this universal light tool represents a fine balance between design quality and sophisticated lighting technology. The JESSICA product family is particularly suitable for the lighting of distributor roads, public highways, car parks, business parks and residential streets.
